 Big blow to Man U camp, Varane dropped

 Another big blow for struggling Manchester United. Raphael Varane was sidelined with an injury at this crucial end of the season. The veteran defender will be sidelined for several weeks with a muscle injury.

 It does not end here.

 Another defender Jonny Evans is also injured. His injuries, however, are not that serious. For now he will not be able to play the match against Bournemouth.

 Both were injured in last week's 4-3 loss against Chelsea.

 Neither could play in the later match against Liverpool. That absence is getting longer. Varane is expected to return at the very end of the season.

 United has suffered from one after another injuries of footballers throughout the season.

 In particular, they have had more problems in defence. Two defenders Lisandro Martinez and Viktor Lindelof are already out of the field. In addition, Luke Shaw will not be able to enter the field for some time. Left-back Tyrell Malacia is yet to return from a knee injury last year.

 Manchester United are sixth in the English Premier League with 49 points from 31 matches.

 There is no chance of them playing in the Champions League next season. Fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur leads by 11 points.
